Hey hey SF foodies and Paleo enthusiast! Have you been to Olivier’s Butchery in Dogpatch? If the answer is no, what are you waiting for? (Although I don’t have room to talk, as today was my first day in there and I can’t believe I have lived in SF this long without stepping foot in the door!? What does this all mean?!)

picstitch (39)Located on the more tranquil Illinois Street, this old fashion French boucherie is stocked with the highest quality meats from ranches that are visited by the owner himself in order to guarantee that cuts and practices are to the highest of standards. Equally important: The prices are pretty reasonable.

picstitch (41)I couldn’t resist and pre-ordered for 100% grassfed, 100 Days Dry Aged Cote de Boeuf…I mean, don’t tempt me with such things! I had to do it! Can’t wait to post the recipe and Ben’s reaction when he sees this gem hanging out in our kitchen. Coming to my kitchen and this blog the week of November 20th.

Coincidentally, my foodie sister-in-law, Camille, drove up from Menlo Park to have lunch with me today. Of course, I had to show her this place. She went home with a gorgeous pork loin (hoping I am invited over for that dinner party, hint hint!).

After three visits and a phone call with the delightful Katrina (all in the same day!), it is safe to say this is a new favorite spot of mine.

So, if you like grass-fed meat, humanely treated animals, and supporting sustainably responsible ranchers (and who doesn’t?!), check this place out. Bonus points if you have me over for dinner. Although I must warn you, this gal can put away the food.
